Rachael Lyle-Thompson is a freelance writer specializing in narratives that examine environmental ethics, climate politics, and social support policies. Her writing has appeared in Undark Magazine, Eos Magazine, and other award-winning publications, and her work has been featured in the New York Times. Recently, Rachael's poetry was selected as a finalist in the Spring 2024 Kenyon Review Poetry Contest. She is an alumna of The OpEd Project's "Write to Change the World" workshop.
In her past lives, Rachael has worked as a senior attorney at the Climate Science Legal Defense Fund, and as a public defender in Montgomery, Alabama. She studied French poetry in Paris, and now lives in New York with her partner, their child, and their Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Rachael prefers Tumblr to Instagram, emails to texts, and the MET to MoMA. She enjoys the ballet and dislikes writing in third person. Writing letters to the editor is her nerdy hobby. Taking film photos is her love language. |
