Rachael Lyle-Thompson is a freelance writer specializing in narratives that examine environmental ethics and family policies. Her writing has appeared in Undark Magazine, Eos Magazine, and other award-winning publications, and her work has been featured in the New York Times. Rachael is an alumna of The OpEd Project's "Write to Change the World" workshop. In 2024, her poetry was selected as a semifinalist in the celebrated Kenyon Review Poetry Contest.
In her past lives, Rachael has worked as a senior attorney at the Climate Science Legal Defense Fund, and as a public defender in Alabama. She studied French poetry in Paris, and now lives in New York (Lenape Land) with her partner, their child, and their dog. Rachael prefers Tumblr to Instagram, emails to texts, and the MET to MoMA. She likes dancing ballet, hiking in the Adirondacks, and reading staff picks at bookstores. Taking film photos is her love language. |
